First Baptist Church is involved in a number of ministries for which we are thankful. If you have questions about our ministries, or would like to get involved, please see Pastor Floyd Lunde. Check out our Events Calendar for the schedule of special events.
Sunday School and Adult Bible Classes
Each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m., we gather to study God’s Word. We have children’s classes appropriate to the age, a teens class where we study God’s word as it impacts teens, and an adult Bible Study usually on a book of the Bible. It is a time of discussion, learning and interaction as we grow in God’s truth.
Our worship focuses on praise to God in a serious but joyful way. We open the word of God and expound the Scriptures carefully and as accurately as we are able. Our church services focus on expository preaching and teaching of God’s truth in His Word. We also dismiss a Jr. Church for the young children so they can learn God’s word in an age appropriate setting.
Each Sunday evening, we gather at 6 p.m. for a time of prayer together. We believe that God moves as we seek Him and His will. Prayer is very central to our church.
Awana is a children’s ministry each Thursday from 6:30 – 8 p.m., which aims at understanding God’s Word, memorizing God’s word, learning practical aspects of God’s truth and having fun while we do it. For the teens, we have Teen Trek going on at the same time, including a time of Bible discussion, game time, and memorization of God’s word. Learn more about Awana at First Baptist Church.
Reformers Unanimous (R.U.)
R.U. is an addiction ministry aimed at helping Christians and those who have not yet met the Lord Jesus Christ overcome addictions that have captured them. It may be an addiction to alcohol, drugs, gambling, tobacco, pornography, eating disorders or things like worry and anger. God’s word has answers to real issues and problems, and we are sure God can overcome any issue. We meet each Friday from 2-3:30 p.m. Join us and find freedom that lasts in Jesus Christ.
We have a monthly men’s prayer breakfast and a monthly ladies craft morning where we enjoy being together doing what we enjoy doing. Ladies like to make things and men like to eat. So join with us and get to know others from the church in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
To help connect as believers in Christ, we have occasional church dinners, fellowship times, picnics and outings. We also encourage attendance at summer family camps, camp programs for the children and youth (scholarships are available). And of course, we encourage our church to meet up during the week as family and friends and share time together.
Each Sunday evening we have a time of worship and Bible study together, working our way carefully through a book of the Bible or a subject study. We hand out notes, have some open discussion time and generally focus on developing a practical and in depth understanding of God’s truth in God’s word.
